Sketchbook Project
As a member of ArteMotu, I participated in a sketchbook project through the Brooklyn Art Library. We were supporting the library, while having our sketchbooks in a library for patrons to view. Eventually my sketchbook was residing in New York. The library attempted to move their location to Florida. An unfortunate truck fire occurred in route, and burned many of the sketchbooks, possibly mine.
This project started in December of 2019 and ended August 15, 2020. I took images of my book, and paid for it to be scanned thankfully. .

I love sketchbooks because there is no demand they be perfect. They are a think tank, a journal, a place to practice new, or old processes. The pieces here can be crude and it is totally fine.
I started this sketchbook Project through the Brooklyn Art Library independently in December. Then more of my friends in ArteMotu wanted to do it. I ordered another one, and skipped between the two a bit, then I decided to join them together. We submitted them by August 15, 2020. They were digitized. Then on February 28th 2022 the libraries collection (or the majority of it) burned in a tragic fire while the library was moving to a new location. I am glad I took photos myself, and they are preserved here.
Enjoy!
PS. On occasion these do inspire new finished works. My raffle is in here, and masks and clothing designs are, after a fashion. :-)
